The Perspective and Impact of Modern Manufacturing Technologies
The rate of change increases because modern technology is developing so quickly, making it possible for more rapid transformation and advancement. Many of the materials, approaches, and technologies that were heralded as innovative only a few years ago now appear insufficient when weighed against the demands of the market and the industrial sector. Research on the evolution of modern manufacturing system concepts over the past few years has thus centred on novel ideas that can meet the assumptions of targeted flexibility and the challenges of the industry. Modern manufacturing technologies presents a number of advantages that come to meet the needs of industry: improve consistency product quality - optimized schedule - minimizes mistakes and wasted time); spend less - ability to increase productivity while decreasing costs; shorten the manufacturing cycle - more goods can be manufactured in the same amount of time; supply-chain optimization - production and ordering are coordinated to meet promised delivery dates; enhance workplace safety.
In this regard, recent scientific and practical advances are of great importance to the field of mechanical engineering. In order to consistently produce high-quality products with optimal efficiency and adaptability, it is essential to devote a great deal of focus to solving the issues raised by different manufacturing technologies. Therefore, we'd like to extend an invitation for you to submit a paper on the subject of "Modern Technologies and Manufacturing Systems."
In this regard, a special Issue entitled The Perspective and Impact of Modern Manufacturing Technologies was proposed, which aimed to invite researchers from various branches of activity to present the achievements/ investigations on next topic: engineering of manufacturing processes; advances in composite materials and technologies; characterization, modelling and simulation of mechanical processes; robotics and computer integrated manufacturing; technology transfer; micro- and nano- technologies; maritime engineering and navigation.
Topics:
- Micro and Nanotechnologies;
- Rapid Prototyping Technologies;
- High Speed Manufacturing Processes;
- Manufacturing and Automation;
- Flexible Manufacturing;
- Cold Forming Technologies;
- CAD/CAM/CAE/CAX Integrated Systems;
- Concurrent Engineering;
